Measuring Flow in Games Using Brain Computer Interfaces

According to Csikszentmihalyi -“Flow is a state of peak enjoyment, energetic focus, and creative concentration experienced by people engaged in adult play, which has become the basis of a highly creative approach to living." In this study we use passive BCI recordings to quantify flow levels across a game with three different levels of difficulties. We use power spectral density and coherence values as features to obtain a mean subject dependent accuracy of 82.46% across 8 human subjects.

Over the past few months, I’ve been trying to refine how I approach digital campaigns, especially when dealing with different geographic markets. It’s easy to focus on general best practices, but in reality, the details make a huge difference. I decided to discover more about how strategies are tailored specifically for the UAE, and it gave me a clearer idea of how localization goes beyond simple translation. Things like cultural expectations, search behavior, and even platform preferences can change the outcome of a campaign. This pushed me to rethink how I structure my own work, particularly when targeting audiences outside my usual scope. It’s interesting to see how a more nuanced approach can reshape overall performance.
